Hi Everyone,

I'm currently busy with a Thesis on Changes & Modifications in the Construction Industry, and I have read numerous books on Changes and Change Management, different types of contracts and also books on how to manage change.

But what I need to know is Personal Experiences & opninions.

d) Change Management

Licence Requirements for Bridge Construction Over A Canal In the UK

Hello;

I am currently looking at a project that involves removing an existing bridge that crosses a canal in the UK. I was wondering if any one knew what licences are required to undertake these works as well as the traditional lead inns for the applications. There is no piling to be undertaken and so it will only be the construction of the new bridge that will have any impact. Also as I have never experienced bridge building before any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Daniel

Only allowing a certain user to view part of the overall Programme in Primavera Project Management

Does anybody know if it is possible to only allow a certain user on project management to view a part of a programme rather than all the activites?

I either need to only allow access to certain activites or only allow access to a certain part of the WBS within this programme.

Can anybody tell me how to do this?  What security Privledges are invloved and whether i need to use responsible manager to make it work?

Thanks

Andy

Dear Sir/Madam,

As part of my Masters dissertation I am currently undertaking research on remote construction management. The aim of the research is to understand the best practices and key elements of the process of remote management, in order to further develop it to optimize the benefits.

To achieve the objectives of the research a questionnaire has been designed for completion by a team member of a previous project.

Schedule of Prices vs. BOQ for a Lump Sum FIDIC 99 Red Book Contract?

Dear Collegues,

We are the PMC of a multi-use development project. The Client intends to go into a lump sum contract with FIDIC Red Book 99 form. The design will be 100% complete before going into tender. The Designer has prepared a BOQ and Method of Measurement along with Specs and Drawings.

I think that:

a)The tender documents should only include a Schedule of Prices, together with Specs, Drawings.. etc. (No BOQS and Method of Measurement).
b) I dont actually suggest any BOQ to be incorporated whatsoever.
