P6 - New baseline not matching the rescheduled current programme?

N
Neil Davies 👤 Member for 15 years 4 months

Good afternoon,

Under maintain baselines, I have created/'add' a baseline of my current project as a new baseline.

Then under 'assign baselines', assigned the new baseline under the 'project baseline' and 'primary' allocations.

My baseline bars displayed on the programme, I have allocated to the 'project baseline' and also to the 'primary baseline', but both scenarios get the following issues.

With the above actions I find the following issue...

New activities in approved baseline

K
Kannan CP 👤 Member for 18 years

In a design and built contract, the contractor submitted a eot claim due to delay in a permit. A revised completion date was awarded to the contractor.

Since it is a design & built contractor the real quanties and clear scope was not defined in the beginning. But with the contractor's experience he submitted the baseline and got approved.

Now the contractor wants to add few more activities in the eot approved baseline, but he will finish all activities within the revised completion date.

Can the contractor add those activities or the client can approve it?

Unable to delete activities & Links on P6 8.3

Explanation: I have recently started using primavera (p6 version 8.3) in shared mode, and I am encountering a new problem where many actions done are not really saved. For example, when I delete an activity, at first it doesn’t show anymore, but when I close the project and reopen it, it appears again as if it hasn’t been deleted. Moreover, same applies for a change of links: The modification is done at first, but then upon closing and reopening of the project, the change is no longer applicable.

Strange Case of Total Float

Hi all,

I started this thread to discuss a avery strange case of total float i encountered..

I had prepared a microprogram for a small section of work which I had checked all links, dates and had the correct finish date as planned with a total float of 0.

Some activities were in progrss and had actuals.I exported this project and send it to the client as well.

I assigned it a baseline and started updating weekly.

Individual day calendars causing negative float in P6 V8.2

There is a negative float on the schedule, but there are no constraints of any kind, which I know sounds illogical but bear with me. (this includes project must finish on date). It looks like it is do with calendars.

Using P6 Database in Excel

F
F A 👤 Member for 13 years 9 months

Hello All,

I'm trying to have p6 data in excel for various reporting purpose. Instead of copy pasting i decided to use Microsoft query to access the p6 database tables.

I'm having problems to identify the specific tables i need to use. I found Task table quite helpful but it doesnt display baseline dates or progress. I assume i need to join to two tables to get the result i need. But i have no knowledge of my project number in the table. the Proj_id which i knw is not displayed in table such as Activtiy.
