Baseline Change Management Procedure in P6

S
sam dsoza 👤 Member for 20 years

Hello All,

I would like to understand / learn more how my fellow planners manage baseline change on Project -

1. What factors beyond the usual (Scope / Contract / Resource / Budget ) determine a change to the baseline? for example would low productivity rate constitute a baseline change?

2. Does one normally do a What-if scenario in P6 to determine whether or not to go ahead with the baseline change? If so do you use original baseline file which OR Most recent Statussed file?

Acumen FUSE

Hi,

I need help in understanding how to upload a primavera xer file into FUSE for the DCMA14 check with an attached baseline. The problem I am getting is, FUSE is showing baseline dates which are totally different to my attached baseline dates in the xer schedule.

I have assigned the baseline to both current project and also the same baseline to the primary baseline but FUSE refuses to pick these dates.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

How can I incorporate change orders in the schedule?

D
Dimple Dean 👤 Member for 10 years 7 months

Hi All,

Just asking on how to deal change orders. Change order on Tiles (Addition) was approved already by us (Client).

Contractor sent us a notice that this Change Order has a procurement of 40 days and required 2 days installation.

This could be a potential delay, now my question is how can we incorporate this in the schedule?

Thanks in advance!

Dimple

Ever heard of a Current Control Plan?

Hi,

Quick context - My PM is making me use a 'Current Control Plan' term instead of 'baseline' as the baseline that links to my live schedule. So, original baseline remains untouched, then overlay that with Current Control Plan (can be edited with agreed changes), then overlay with the live schedule which is progressed against the 'CCP'.

In my experience, I have only ever had the baselines, whether its the original or the updated agreed changes baseline.
