Resource Assignment

Hi all,

Have been doing a lot of resourcing work & filtering a lot in the resource assignment tab. When i filter by my codes in the resource assignment I cant seem to save the filter like you normally can..... Any suggestions so I am not doubling up on setting up filters everytime i need to extract from the resource assignment tab?

Percent complete of project....

All;

I've been asked to graph the percent complete of a project in P6. The project has a total duration that it must meet. The simple, linear way, would be to just graph the schedule percent complete on the linear total duratino and call it a day. We don't want to do it this way becasue we believe the activities or the summary bands/phases that they belong to, should be waited - ex. 24 month total project duration, demo/abatement is considered 10% of the project (i.e. 2.4 mos).

Do you think this is a proper way to update a schedule?

Recently, a colleague sent me the link to this game:

http://thatpmgame.com/

Is this really how Project Managers from around the world are updating their schedules?

I think that if an activity in the critical path is not being advanced as planned, the schedule update should show the impact on  the finish milestone.

What do you think?

Scheduling Standards

Hi,

I am writing a research paper on benchmarking of scheduling practices.In which I aiming to find:

cross checks or procedures required to determine the qulaity of schedule before making it a baseline schedule.Some example for cross check may be: open ends,type of relationships,positive or negative lag etc.

Quantification methods for these procedures to score the quality of schedule.

Any idea where I can find any material related to list of checks and quantification methods for these checks so that I can score the provided schedule??
