Distribution by change in Date - Excel

Hello Team,

Need your support in solving a proble. I have made a table with start date (A) and Finish date (B), The total Quantity (C) is divided by the durtation to give the per day quantity (D). Now I have per month cut of date (E, F, G, H).

Can anyone propose a formula for E. F, G, H, where the quantity would change when I change the start (A2) and finish (B2) based on the date in E2, F2, G2 and H2.

Progress curve - Early Vs Late and somewhere in between

I like to see the usage of different progress curves other than early curves, and when used, what kind of irrational was used and who agreed with it, meaning agreement between the PCMs or the PMs.  If the subject was already discussed, let me know where to go to see it.  Thanks.

Project controls do not determine the future

No one can determine what will happen in the future – the future is always uncertain.  But over the last 50 years the view of many seems to have shifted to believing a schedule or cost plan is a precise statement of what will happen months or years into the future.

When the inevitable occurs and things do not happen as planned, people get blamed and the reaction has been to build more detail into the plans and make contracts more restrictive. Despite this cycle being repeated time after time 80% of projects still fail to meet the required objectives.

Mandatory Finish Constraint

Dears,

I know I should avoid mandatory constraints, but the client forces the team to use a mandatory finish milestone (Project Finish Date) that leads to negative lag. Our mandatory finish constraint on “Project Finish Date” caused a network logic violation, where the successor completes before the predecessor.

I want to know if there is any way that all preceding activities fall into line before the “Project Finish Date”?

Thanks

Construction Manpower Histogram

M
M S 👤 Member for 15 years 4 months

Hi all,

Due to lack of Oil and Gas Onshore Construction planning experience, I have a question the answer to which may seem obvious to someone. The answer may really be obvious, however I would still like to hear your views.

When your onshore construction contractor provides you with their manpower histogram for the duration of the whole project, how can it be verified? In other words, how do you make sure that the contractor has enough people to support the project?
