Whilst the planner produces an integrate ovetall schedule using a software package to meet the contract spec at level 3 all the other disciplines have to do there own detailed planning Level 4/5 within the parameters of the schedule. They use excel spreadsheets, to do lists, diaries etc.

Are delays inevitable on your project?

Are delays inevitable on a project? Recond to be the 2nd most cause of project failure (after communication) do you have a process for identifying them, tracking them, mitigating them, avoiding them long before they affect your project.Do you have an attitude that retrospective delay analysis and the claims industry will sort it out in the bun fight after you've handed over the project late.
Well I've put together best practices from working on projects for 40 years to try and identify a better process.

baseline update - past activities

Hello all,

Wanted to get some guidance on this:

We are in the middle of a project. We started working on an extension of time case with the client but took forever to have that accepted. In the meanwhile, we missed some milestones as per the original baseline. Those activities are now in the past. Are we supposed to change the baseline for past activities as per the new extension of time?

thanks!
