Planning qualifications

D
David Craig 👤 Member for 16 years 7 months

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if anyone can help with the following problem. I am a relatively inexperienced planning engineer (3-4 years experience). I am looking to improve my knowledge by completing some formal qualifications within our expertise. I have seen courses such as PRINCE2, PMBOK and ECITB planning and control. I am also interested in any relevant degree that would help with my progression. It would be hugely appreciated if anyone can provide me with any guidance / advice.

Kind Regards,

David craig

Hi Guys,

Do you have any recommended training/training centers for Planning and Programming in construction projects in Hong Kong? Subjects include Advanced Primavera, Claims and EOT assessment, etc. Please include contact or website.

Thanks.

Primavera overview training

Morning all,

I've been asked to produce a training package for non-users of P6 to give them an overview of the system and how its used.

I was going along the lines of introducing the basic planning principles then moving onto the system, showing various layouts, reports etc.

If anyone has any other good ideas or better still, a presentation or package that they've already developed then i would love to talk to you.

Cheers

Shimmo

PMI Scheduling Webinar for PDU: How to Compute Critical Path Drag

I just received the blast email (reprinted below) from PMI's Scheduling Community of Practice announcing the webinar that I will be doing for them on July 10th. It is FREE to all PMI members, but you have to register for it. Last I heard (about two weeks ago), over 600 people had already registered. There may be a limit on numbers, so if you want to receive it (and earn a PDU), please register.

Advanced CPM Training

C
Craig Shaw 👤 Member for 13 years 9 months

Hi Folks,

I am in the process of making a mid-career transition into Planning & Scheduling.  My educational path is going well... with the exception of advanced CPM knowledge.

Several courses that I have taken, focus almost entirely on traditional FS relationships when making network logic diagram calculations. I have found exercises that require calculations around all relationships, different calendars, and contraints.

I decided to buy Murray Woolf's CPM Mechanics book, but it is way over my head and personally I find it an awkward read.
