Levelling and original duration changes

A
adab azeez 👤 Member for 9 years 11 months

I am doing levelling, in P6. whenever I am delaying any activity in "Resource usage spreadsheet" by shifting the particular overallocated resource to next possible day my original duration for activity changes drastically. This duration is logically never possible. If I show this schedule to management it is definitely going to be a butthurt.
Is there any possible way that I delay the activity and its duration wont change.
I can put lags but, some people recommend that using lags are not standard practice.
Please help.

P6 R83 Installation

Hi guys, I am having difficulties installing P6 on my machine.

I seem to be doing everything as per the instructions from the internet and have enough computing space on my laptop.

After running everything I get an error saying ''P6 Install was interrupted''. What could be causing this?

Kind regards

Cleaning up logic when submitting a Recovery Baseline

Hello,

A year and a half into our project, we finally have an approved baseline and are being allowed to submit a Recovery Schedule that will reflect the actual planned sequence of the work.  We have not been able to submit any monthly updates, other than to status the baseline as of the data date we will be using for the Recovery Schedule.

eBooks for P6 and/or General CPM Scheduling

Hello,

I am taking a 17 hour plane flight and thought a good scheduling eBook would either make some nice light reading, or an effective sleeping agent.

Does anyone know of a good eBook about CPM scheduling, or something particular to P6?

I'm hoping for something that isn't geared towards beginners.  I'd like to learn more about strategies and practices that would help make a schedule that is both a flexible planning tool, as well as protect against or facilitate potential claims.
