Transfer.dat to Resource Availability

Hi all,

I am trying to write a transfer.dat so I can import resource availability to my resource file. The problem I have is when the data is imported I can't get it to overwrite existing data, it adds a new line  for the availability, this results in multiple entries with the same information.

Can anyone suggest any solutions, I have tried Update and Update only

Thanks in advance.

Open Plan Professional 3.1

I'm new to open plan and really don't know anything about it.

I'm a Active Directory Adim, Systems admin.

I've inherited this mess of Server Migration, which should have taken place years before I got here.

All I have are these instructions below as to how to migrate.

Migrating OpenPlantoaNewServer

1)  InstallOpenPlanonthenewserverusingtheMulti-User(Server)option.Serialnumbersand

Open Plan and MSP Comparison

S
Shea Walls 👤 Member for 13 years 11 months

We are considering migrating our current schedule from MSP to OPP.  I've been tasked with putting together a "trade study" of sorts to determine the pros and cons of each and make a decision.

We are considering this because our schedule is shared with our customer and they use OPP (as in the same file shared, not just sent to them).  We continually have issues with the import/export process.

Anyone have insight on the comparison of the two after working in both?  I'm sure someplace on this forum it's been discussed but wanted to get some fresh inputs.

Hi Guys,

Not many folks know what Deltek PM Compass is. So, here's an article giving a great overview of of its features and capanilities http://bit.ly/JXf9Ln

Complete with screen shots, it talks about the portfolio management capabilities that it adds to the other Deltek EPM tools.

I hope you find this useful.

How does OPP 3.2 Exter projects work within the main project schedule?

I wish to check if anyone has used the External projects with the main project schedule file.

1. Does is roll up specific Milestone only or Activities ?

2. Willl the Resouces Actual Hours via WelcomHome roll up too the main project schedule?

3. Are only specific situations when this External project will work ?

4. How does one implement practically? Developer's Guide as need to "Save As" , but is still not clear to me.

5.

OPP's - OUT-OF-SEQUENCE minimisation

Out of sequence events seem to be common , even when one's is trying to schedule only with Free Float and Zero Lag. How can one minimise this in OPP ?

There is so muchs one can check the Schedule Logic for 400 plus activities. Is the3re any SSR tools around that one can incorprate on the Open Library? Just last weeek , after statusing some 3 Activities on a minor project. There was a problem which I suspect is due to this "Out of Sequence" or OPP having a bug in the system.
