Newbie Question. Creating dependencies that are not end to start dates

Good day all you Planning Professionals! I beseech you for your wisdom. A lowly CM seeks a simple(well,,not for me) answer to a simple question. I am using MS Project 2013. I want to create a dependency from finish to start but i'm not sure how to do it, because the dates aren't exactly end to start necessary.

Resource Leveling MSP 2010 vs MSP 2013

Hello,

Has somebody noticed that Microsoft dramatically changed the way resource leveling is computed since MS Project 2013?

Figure 1 shows a project sample leveled in MS Project 2010: task 8 has moved after task 5 as Resource 1 was overloaded

Figure 2 shows the same project leveled in MS Project 2013: task 5 is moved after task 8

Both projects have been leveled with all the leveling options de-activated; resources 1 and 1 have a 100% max. capacity in the resource sheet.

What could be the reason of that change?

Thank you for your help

Microsoft Project and Start No Later Than Constraints Explained

Ideally in forward scheduling you specify As Soon As Possible (ASAP) constraints to commence your tasks at the earliest possible dates. So is it therefore redundant to specify a Start No Later Than (SNLT) constraint on a particular task? Let’s examine this question http://ow.ly/BAl03012FLI

Auto assigment of resources

Dear All,

I would like to kindly ask you to help me on below question

On Grant Chart I made up column where I have formula. According to this formula the column shows me how many person I need to complete the task till Deadline.

Is there any possibility to set up RULE, Function and etc. where MS Project will take numbers from this column (let's say Number10) and add resources to this task?

Thanks a lot in advance

Kindly
