Good morning all

I am Dave from Interserve Construction in Swansea, quite new to Asta but have been using 3D software for 14 years now.

I have linked in an IFC file to my programme, all good, however, when I place a site componant such as a piece of hoarding I loose it on screen as it places itself miles from my building.

Then when I view the model the pane looks blank as the model is a small pixel somewhere in one corner and the hoarding is a pixel somewhere in the other corner. Resetting the view doesnt help either.

Calculating cost on minimum day rate item

Hi,

We have a scenario where a crane costs us say £1,500 per day (8hr day). Even if the crane is only used for 1hr, we still get charged for the whole day. if we go over 8hr a day then it's charged at £45 p/h.

I don't really know how to establish a payrate using these figures. £1,500/8=£174p/h so I cannot simply use that pricing per hour, and that wouldnt accomodate the minimum unit of 1 day @ £1,500.

Hi Mike,

In Asta, how to give horizontal scale to Histogram? I got Vertical Scale but I cant see Horizontal scale settings when I right click on Histogram. How can I give the horizontal scale to my Manpower Graph. Please Help .

Expand the whole peoject

Hi Mike,

In p6, there are very good options to expand or collapse the project.

In asta, i need to expand the full programme including all heads and subheads.

But the problem is that when I go to Project View, select all heads and subeads and expand these, then few subheads/headings are still not expanded. What is problem? Why some heads and subheads are not fully expanded?

Please give me tip/trick to expand the programme fully including expanding all headings and subheads ?

Import file

Hi Mike,

I am trying to save file as XER to import it to P6 but got the attached error/warnings.

Please advise me the steps to follow so I can save file as Full as it is without the above warnings and import the whole programme into P6 with same headings and subheadings as in Asta without any error.

Progressing Milestones in the Spreadsheet

When I log in as admin I can progress milestones in the spreadsheet, but when I log in as a user inside of a security group I have to progress up to 100% complete on the Gantt Chart and then change the date. The error reads that I do not have sufficient access rights when I try to apply the progress on the spreadsheet but I cannot find the specific setting that is stopping me from doing so. Any suggestions?

Any recommended hierarchy colour schemes?

Hello all,

Wanted to ask if the planners on this forum follow any specific colour scheme on a programme?

Just curious to know if you use a standard colour scheme on all propgrammes you use or have different pallettes for different programmes.

This would probably be more of a question related to the presentation of a programme.

Asta changing date modified on .pp file automatically

Hi all,

I am using ASTA version 14 and I am trying to figure a way around something which might be very simple.

When I open an old file say from a year ago to just have a look at and then close the file, the software seems to change the "Date Modified" to today even though I havent modified anything.

Is there a way to disable Asta from doing this?
