Formula For Duration Between Tasks Based On Code Library Allocation

Hi All,

Following my last post (http://www.planningplanet.com/forums/asta-powerproject/537680/using-formula-answer-another-formula). I’ve realised I need help with the actual formula;

I have a programme with multiple tasks per line / bar, with each task on a line having a different code library allocation. The bars are set so that tasks may overlap.

Show duplicate items for multiple assignments in PP10

Hello,

Asta Powerlines April 2012 (http://www.astadev.com/asta-powerlines-april-2012/asta-powerproject-hints-tips-april-2012/) features an instruction on how to sort your multiple assigned library codes. Step 2 of 'Sorting where multiple codes are assigned' shows an option to 'Show duplicate items for multiple assignments'.

Tables

Hello

I'm using v12 and have created a table for a progress report.

How do I copy / import this table into another programme? The table definition doesn't seem to appear in the library explorer....

Any help gratefully received to avoid having to type out all the formula again...

Thanks

Abby

User defined field - not showing unless i put a date on the chart

C
Christine P 👤 Member for 17 years 1 month

Hi there

Made a user defined field via "User Field Manager" called Frequency, all I want to type in there is "Monthly" or "2 yearly" or "Weekly" etc.

I've added it to my chart, I type in the activity description as usual, I type in the "Frequency" column the frequency but when I move off the column onto another, I lose whatever is in the "Frequency" column - unless I draw a date on the gant chart.

I've had this problem before, and Ive sorted it, but that was about 2 year ago and I now cant for the life of me work out how to have whatever is in my user defined columns

Effort & Modelling

While putting a programme together, I often use "Effort & Modelling". This obviously enables me (or rather the programme) to calculate durations. So I model, get a duration and then save eveything as a baseline.

However the quantities change, and so to do the durations. I now want to show on two seperate columns

1 The baseline quantities

2 The new quantities that gave new durations

I've been told that you cannot do this on Asta, that instaead I have to use a "user defined field" , and type in manually all the new quantities.

Re-Schedule

I have been given a programme to review. It Asta V12. When I re-schedule, I find 2 tasks that have

  1. No Links (in or out)
  2. No constraints of any kind

After I re-schedule (F9), the tasks “just sit there”. They do not move back to the re-schedule date. I can “move” them to another date, and again they just sit there. What is causing this??
