Enterprise Project Management enables control within projects and programmes, management of constraints and resources across the portfolio, and assurance.

A short while ago I posted a blog that was highly critical of the new ‘Practice Guide for the Governance of Portfolios, Programs, and Projects’.  The core of my criticism was the confusion of management and governance (and PMI’s focus on improving management functions); see: PMI’s Practice Guide misses the boat!

The quality guru W. Edwards Deming said ‘In God we trust, all other bring data’. However, developments in the Victorian Government health system (Australia) offer a salient reminder to any PMO manager on the value of data.
