Network Rail Project Controls Engineer

•     Management interface between Scope Designers, Project Planners and Delivery Areas.

•     Determine work capacity requirements and facilitate program tracking and reporting.

•     Responsible for Line of Route information located within the WCRM central database (iPCS).

•     Design, develop and implement procedures to ensure project scope and progress are updated and accurate.

• Prepare project work breakdown structures and plan in accordance with the requirements of the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP) to deliver project objectives.

• Ensure the plan is fully resourced and cost loaded and monitor progress to the plan and make changes as required. Develop recovery programme and contingency plans in order to meet changed objectives.

• Input issues into the project’s critical issues risk log. Review risks and ensure the register is updated accordingly.

Lead Planner for Transmitton Ltd for SCADA design and Installation for the Southern Region Power Supply Upgrade. Responsible for the concept and creation of the project plan, including resource and cost, overhead and profit calculation and for coordination with the joint venture electrification suppliers across 100+ geographical sites in four contract areas. Member of NR central project team.

Zone Planner - NR Eastern Region planner responsible for implementation of MIMS as the NR maimtenance and scheduling tool. As chairman of the project control team for the MIMS implementation Project taking the leading role in coordination all planning activities across the NR asset management teams, the infrastructre maintenance contractors and the 28 eastern region depots.

Employed by Network Rail as project planner for the Major Projects & Investment Telecomms Renewals Team overseeing the planning requirements for Telephone Concentrator installations, Radio and CCTV systems, Fixed Telecom Network (FTN) route-works and cables, GSM-R base and cable installation, station clocks and passenger information displays, and installation of voice recorders in signal boxes across the North East: 40-45 projects totalling £46m to monitor and progress.
