This letter is to express my interest in the position of Project Planner/ Planning Engineer/Project Control Engineer. I meet all the requisite engineering qualifications (B.Tech Civil- M.G University and MSc. Engineering Project Management-University of Manchester, UMIST) and an experience of13+ years in planning and project control in an environment of EPCCM, Project Delivery/Management Consultancy and Tender Procurement. I have passed APM accredited PRINCE2® Foundation Examination.
In my Resume, you may notice that most of my academic degrees are with distinction or high first class and also my past work practices with internationally reputed and highly ranked companies - Hatch Mott MacDonald JV in South Africa, AECOM in Qatar. Pell Frischmann UK in India, Laing O’ Rourke in UAE, Joannou & Paraskevaides (Overseas) Ltd, U.K, in Libya. Before my overseas assignments, I had 4 years of practice (Oct 1996- Aug 2000) in India, in IIT Kanpur, Chanakya-Approtech Inc (Tormacon Ltd USA) and Mfar L/Galfar Ltd
For your kind information: I took career break (a gap year), joined Manchester University and successfully completed MSc in Engineering Project Management (Sep 2009 to Sep 2010). The Master’s programme was based on a template of 5 core units and 3 optional units. Core subjects studied and grade are Management of Projects (Distinction), Project Planning and Control (Distinction), Project Management Research Methods (Distinction), Commercial Management (Merit), People and Organisation (Pass). Optional subjects undertaken and gade are Business Projects Involving IS/IT (Distinction), Commercial Contract Management (Pass), Project Finance (Merit) and overall grade is Merit Pass 65%. I strongly believe that this gap year cannot technically be considered as career break as the knowledge achieved through the core and optional subjects are par with what industries need today and in future especially in financing, planning and management aspects of the project life cycle.
Skills and propensities to succeed are: Very extensive experience in Primavera P3 to P6.2, MS Project, SureTrak; Reporting tools usage in cost, trend and progress reporting; Exposure in various schedules, WBS, CBS, PBS, OBS, EVMS; Working experience with development of key performance indicators(KPI) and dash board; Project Control Process integration with Cost, Schedule and Scope; Coordination and interfacing; Budgeting, cash flow, contractual administration (FIDIC, NEC3 (ECC), JCT etc), estimate preparation, risk Management.
However, I possess Tier 1 General Migrant Visa valid up to 09/02/2012 and extendable to 09/02/2014, which allows me to work and stay in the UK, I am ready to relocate and join immediately either in UK or Overseas
