Planning Assistant – Kent County Council, Maidstone

I undertook a 1 week voluntary placement within the planning department where I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to gain a better understanding of how individual job roles function. I spent time with the planning technicians and had the opportunity to input planning applications on to the computer system as well as plot site boundaries on the GIS system.



I also spent the day with one of the planning officers and went on a site visit to discuss building material sourcing problems for a new school in Ashford, Kent. Finally I spent time with the enforcement team where I also went on a site visit for an unauthorised wastedevelopment.
