Ripoll’s new petrochemical complex in Duque de Caxias is said to be Latin America's largest integrated gas-based chemical site. Inaugurated during the second half of 2005, the complex is able to produce 520,000tpa of ethylene, which is used as feedstock for a polyethylene unit with a capacity of 540,000tpa. 75,000tpa of propylene is also made at the site. The propylene will be used by Brazilian polypropylene producer Polibrasil.

The Minas-Rio iron ore project is located in the Minas Gerais state in Brazil. It will comprise a mine and beneficiation plant producing high-grade pellet feed. The pellet feed will be transported through a slurry pipeline (525 Km) to the Port of Açu which is being constructed in Rio de Janeiro State, with the potential for further pipelines and rail access. The project have an potential production of 26.5 million tons per annum from the first pipeline
