My name is Thanasis Athanassiou and I am currently employed as a Lead Planning Engineer in Athens Greece by a major EPC contractor in the Power Generation and Industrial works industry.
During my 15 year carrier in the construction industry I have been mainly involved as a Planning Engineer. from the Tender phase, in a number of projects ranging from major civil infrastructure to complex E/M projects like CCGT power stations, Oil & Gas Projects (refinery upgrades and cryogenic LNG tank construction Projects).
My strong point in producing many contract winning project schedules has always been my ability to visualize the entire project from both the PM (commercial) and the Technical Manager (Engineering) perspective.
Additionally my extensive hands on experience as a site based engineer, enables me to assess and incorporate the practical aspects and risks of a project in the master schedule thus striving to create a dynamic and feasible plan.
I also, have experience in forensic planning, claims substantiation and delay mitigation scheduling.
I am a team player, naturally curious and paying attention to detail without losing the big picture, while mentoring my team of office and site based planners alike.
