I am writing in response to your advertisement in Planning Planet for the position of Planning Engineer – Oil & Gas Refineries. I would like to apply for the role because I believe that my experience and skills are a good match to those required by the company.
Presently, I work as Project Planning engineer with a petrochemical client - Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) at Jubail, Saudi Arabia. My current role has a scope for Planning & Controls; however I wish to move to a larger organization in order to make better use of my planning skills. I have been in my current position since 2009. Earlier, I had worked in Planning and Project Controls function in various capacities with Foster Wheeler for 2.5yrs and Toyo Engineering for 8 yrs. In all, I have a total experience of 14+ years in Petrochemicals, refineries, LNG projects etc.
I am a Civil engineer with post graduation in Construction Management. My academic background and relevant experience has given me the ability to make better-informed decisions as a project controls engineer. In my current role, I am responsible for planning and control of a project through its various phases of development. I have also carried out schedule health check and project performance analysis of projects as part of project assurance function. I have hands-on experience with the project management software – Primavera and have the required knowledge of functions related to Cost Control. To ensure that I am in tune with the international standards in the field of cost, I got myself certified from AACEI as a Certified Cost Engineer. Attached herewith is my CV for further details.
Other than being a committed team player who manages priorities and takes responsibility for all aspects of my work, I am a good communicator, work well under pressure in time-critical environments, possess the ability to adapt in any environment and learn with every new opportunity.
