Yas Island is 25 km2 island strategically located between the coast and cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, It is being developed with a range of world-class hotels, theme parks, golf courses, mega malls, apartments and villas with associated Infrastructure. A major part of the development is the Yas Marina Motor Racing Circuit, a Formula 1™ venue which hosted the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2009, and will again in 2010.

During this project assignment my responsibilities included:

 

 Monitoring the progress of the construction of the Sewage Treatment Plant (Capacity of 48,000 m3) which was valued at 200,000,000 dhs.  This was done by obtaining the progressinformation from the project team and then reviewing the progress by visiting the site on a regular basis.

 

I then Updated the KBR Integrated Project Program (2,000 activities) and from this update prepared the weekly and monthly report which was submitted to the Client for his actions.

 

 The reports included the areas of concerns which were seriously affecting the progress together with suggested corrective actions.

 

From the updated Project Program I also reported the Planned and Actual progress percentages, Delays Analysis, Critical Path Analysis ,2 Week Look- Ahead ,Progress S-Curves for Overall, Civil and Mechanical Works , Procurement status , Shop Drawings status and Progress Photographs.

 

In addition I attended the regular Monthly and Weekly progress meetings with Clients, Consultants and Contractors.

‘’The World’’, Nakheel Properties, Dubai-UAE.

 

‘’The World’’ Project is the Construction of 300 islands in the shape of the world's continents and countries, created off the coast of Dubai. ‘’The World ‘’ offers imaginative investor an unprecedented opportunity in the form of leisure, residential and tourist developments. It will add over 232km of new beachfront to Dubai's coastline. The main features of ‘’The World’’ are Islands which will include apartments, villas, resorts, marinas, transportation hubs and infrastructure utilities.

 

During this project assignment my responsibilities included:

 

-Creating the Work Breakdown Structure ensuring it corresponded with the Client’s Project Scope Documents.

-Preparing the Schedule Management Plan and associated Project Procedures.

-Preparing the overall ‘’Sale of Islands’’ Project Program encompassing 210 islands with 25,000 activities.

-Preparing the Payment Histograms, Cash Flow Curves, Progress Status.

- Attending the Monthly Progress Meetings to collect the required progress data.

- Updating the Overall “Sale of Islands” Project Program according to the collected Progress data.

- Preparing the Monthly Progress Report for the Project Team.
