How to handle remaining quantities

Vladimir, Rafael,

How do you suggest to handle activities that are finished but they have remaining quatities?

Explanations:

I do not use earned value to track work. 99.99% contracts, either Design and Built, either Build will have bill of quantities which will be used to pay for work done.

There is a need to track progress over time and compare it to the Baseline schedule. In order to do so I track 3 progress items:

Large project actual data consolidation

Vladimir,

On a large EPC project what would be the best way to distribuite and consolidate actual data?

Spider can do this in many ways:

  1. Distribuite WBS to Managers and Consolidate after actual data has been entered;
  2. Distribuite Actual Data Table to Documents, the manager enters actual data and then the Actual Data gets consolidated back;
  3. Via Spider Web interface, where the actual data is ditributed and the consolidated after changes have been made.

The best solution would be the one where:

Productivity Periods and Percentage change of assigmnet

Hello Vladimir,

I saw that Spider has developed the possibility to user productivity periods, which is awsome! These productivity periods are time-based, similar to cost periods. This is great for modeling lower productivity during certain periods like winter, without the hastle of defining lower working work weeks and calendar exceptions.

How do you reccomend modeling lower/higher productivity depending on volume of work?

Example:

Water waste pipe excavation:

Managing project Portfolio in Spider

E
Evgeny Z. 👤 Member for 18 years 4 months

Dear all, I just created this generic post about managing project portfolios, but I want to clarify some details on how Spider is designed to use it, as I think it is well thought through in Spider.

In my understanding that it the cycle is like this:

1) Individual project schedules are built

2) Project portfolio, which contains 2 or more projects is created

3) Individual projects are consolidated into portfolio

Spider Project Automation

Vladimir,

I am looking for a way to do update all material and resources costs on a weekly basis.

Here is what I am thinking:

01. Use a database (doesn't matter wich one) as long as it can export a simple text file. The database will store codes of materials/resources, description, unit of measure, cost/volume or cost/hour (in case of resources), date of costs. The costs can be taken from accounting of from quotations.
