Last week, PP attended the Synchro Professional Users Conference in Birmingham, England and can report on the following - these are facts and allow for you our members to interpret as you wish. Some data about Synchro a long term BIM software author...
- Synchro have some 200+ named clients which amount to 300+ entities utilising their product and in reality, '1000's of users.'
- This customer base spans some 20 countries.
- Synchro are UK based with a U.S. CEO Tom Dengenis and a significant support team which seems very knowledgeable judging by the presentations given.
- Attendees (some 60 or so) were from the Netherlands, Germany, Russia, Denmark, France, Hungary and of course, the UK with presentations being made on a case study basis and covering many fields from tenders to road building, numerous construction projects and general Synchro product features which contributed in a major way to each successful tender or project completion this seminar was the first one held in Europe.
- Whilst 3D BIM is now the norm it was felt by all that 4D is catching up quickly! '3D BIM is collaborative but 4D BIM is significant even without collaboration.'
More information is available on http://www.synchroltd.com but in PP's opinion there were many happy users in the room and with release upgrades also being presented Synchro will remain a major BIM vendor.
