Recruitment Watch...
Welcome to the July edition of the planning recruitment watch, brought to you by Project Resource Ltd. We bring you the latest trends in planning recruitment across the UK, helping you plot your next career move.
Demand is beginning to slow in London as we rapidly approach the start of the Olympics, however, demand is still high for senior planners and planning managers to work on overground and underground rail projects as well as senior project controllers and project controls managers to work on various airport projects.
Whilst there has been some fluctuation in recent months, demand for planners and project controllers remains strong across the UK.

Across Scotland and the North East of England we are continuing to experience record demand for intermediate planners who have worked on subsea / oil & gas projects for at least two years.
In the North West the demand for planners and project controllers at senior or managerial levels with a background in oil & gas or nuclear projects continues to rise.
Throughout the Midlands and Anglia, demand for contract planners to work on power and utilities projects continues to grow alongside new demand for manufacturing planners. On the permanent side we are recruiting heavily for planners of all levels with defence experience.
