NEWS UPDATE FROM SOME OF OUR SPONSORS...

Dear Planners, Schedulers and Project Controls Professionals.  Here is an update from us with some current and, we hope, pertinent news from the good people who support Planning Planet and help us fund the cost of the PP servers and its 24/7 service agreements; our Sponsors.

In keeping with your requests to make this more easily readable on your hand-held devices we have not included any images or logos.  In the past this has been the majority request from users... is it still a valid request?

Regards... Planning Planet Team

Guild of Project Controls Advert...

We are advised that there is a Guild Senators Meeting in London (Mott Mac Donalds City Office) on 12th July.  The Guild Senate is made up of the heads of departments of major global companies; real people in real jobs, who understand our roles, obligations and difficulties and most importantly, using that knowledge, have taken up Senator roles to help guide the Guild in the right direction(s).

At this meeting, amongst other issues, the Guild's Constitution, Proceedures and Operating Policies will be ratified.

If you are not already a Guild Senator, but think you should or could be, do contact [email protected].

If you think that your employer should fill one of the last remaining slots as a Founder Guild Sponsor, or you want to find out why this would benefit your company, or indeed, why the other major global corporations are all jumping to support it, do contact [email protected] to initiate a discussion.

Recruitment Watch...

Welcome to the May edition of the planning recruitment watch, brought to you by Project Resource Ltd. We bring you the latest trends in planning recruitment across the UK, helping you plot your next career move.

Demand for planners remained steady throughout April and into the start of May, positive news for many after a slower start to the year than was anticipated but with more and more projects being approved, we are expecting a busy summer for planners up and down the country.

Across the Midlands and Anglia we are experiencing increasing demand for contract senior planners to work on pre construction and design projects. On the permanent side of things, we are registering an increasing number of opportunities for intermediate planners to work in the defence and utilities sectors.

With the Olympics only a few months away, London contractors and consultancies are crying out for planners from intermediate to senior and planning manager level to work on airport and rail projects on a permanent and contract basis in a bid to strengthen our transport infrastructure before the summer.

Our Manchester planning team are continuing to report a strong desire to speak with permanent or contract planners with EPC experience and permanent planners with nuclear experience to work on a range of projects across the North West.

In our Reading office, the South West team are reporting constant and consistent demand for intermediate to senior planners with demonstrable experience in the nuclear, petrochemical and utilities sectors.

We are extremely positive about the current planning and project controls markets. More and more job opportunities are being registered with us every day and we are starting to see a return to conditions not experienced since the recession. More opportunities means more choice and better pay which can only be a good thing for planners!

If you are a planner and are considering your next career move, please visit our website today, we may have the perfect role for your experience and requirements. We also offer a referral scheme that rewards you for your recommendations, click here for details.

Thank you...

We trust that you found some of this to be of interest and value.  If not, do tell us.

Be Proud of your Planning and Project Controls...
