PROJECT RESOURCE... Good morning and welcome to the November edition of the planning recruitment watch, brought to you by Project Resource Ltd. We bring you the latest trends in planning recruitment across the UK, helping you plot your next career move. The North of England has seen demand boom over the past month with a huge rise in the number of permanent vacancies being registered as well a smaller, though still significant, increase on the contract side. In particular, senior planners with 10 or more years experience and who spent significant time working on EPC projects. Activity in the North has been mirrored in the South with significant improvements in both permanent and contract hiring's. Intermediate planners with experience on EPC projects are in significant demand as well as those with significant water and utilities experience now that AMP5 is in full swing. Demand has continued to decline across the midlands, particular for planners working on a contract basis. However, there are still opportunities for planners with civils experience working on bridge and highways projects as well as rail based civils. Finally, London has seen little change in the number of contract opportunities opening up but has reported a positive increase in the number of planners being hired on a permanent basis. Intermediate to senior planners with water and rail experience are particularly sought after.
