Project Controls Global in association with Planning Planet are proud to support one of the world’s leading global Construction Dispute Resolution and Expert Witness consultancies as it looks to enrich and develop its UK & European businesses at Senior Consultant level due to a number of promotions internally and a year of work booked ahead.

Our client is looking for an individual from a QS or Quantum background, with a genuine interest in Dispute Resolution, with a good level of education behind them that can demonstrate a passion for forensic, investigative work. You may already be working as a consultant in these areas, or perhaps experienced QS with the aptitude and interest in claims who is ready for a new career in professional services.

Responsibilities

Providing detailed analysis and professional advice in relation to contentious matters on behalf of main contractors, client businesses and law firms. Supporting Expert Witnesses and writing / assisting with writing Expert reports in arbitration and litigation. Researching, analysing and drafting reports analysing cost related matters on major construction claims

Drafting high quality contractual narrative’s and investigative reports in the defence or pursuit of claims. Acting as an ambassador of the business via good client relationship management and attending industry related functions Working with the support of the UK team and business to develop your skills across different areas of dispute advisory work and work towards being an arbitrator or expert.

Requirements 

Degree qualified in a Cost/QS related degree with ideally either additional legal qualifications or a willingness to gain this if supported by the organisation. Ideally you will be chartered or happy to work towards this

We are looking for someone with a real interest and desire to work alongside the best in this unique specialist area of construction consultancy. Someone with a passion for dispute resolution and / or a genuine interest in moving into it as a full time, long term, career move.

You will have ideally spent at least 5 years with a main contractor as a QS working on major / large scale projects across either / or civil engineering, power and process, Rail, Oil & Gas or Building. Exposure to or direct experience of working on construction and/or engineering claims

 

Working knowledge of some or all of FIDIC / NEC / JCT / D&B / EPC forms of contracts
