Project Planner
Network Rail
London
£30,000 - £50,000 depending on experience
Network Rail is revitalising Britain’s railway. We’re involved in some of the most ambitious and diverse ventures the UK has ever seen - from the rejuvenation of King’s Cross Station to Crossrail, Europe’s largest civil engineering project. It’s all about delivering the better railway that is vital for the nation’s economic prosperity. The Thameslink Programme is one of our most significant initiatives, and you’ll have a key role to play in its successful delivery. This £6.5 billion rail infrastructure project will enhance the network to and through London, significantly increasing overground capacity to the benefit of millions of people.

In this exciting role, you’ll be responsible for the development and management of delivery programmes on behalf of Thameslink project and programme managers. You’ll enjoy the opportunity to make a difference to delivery planning performance, affecting the introduction of new trains and systems. What’s more, you will be at the forefront of tomorrow’s railway, gaining first-hand experience of groundbreaking, next generation infrastructure systems. Diligently sharing information with a range of stakeholders, you will make sure your plans and schedules support effective performance measurement and reporting. The plans you shape will enable some of the industry’s finest engineers to deliver cost effective, reliable results.
You won’t need rail industry experience to thrive here and applicants from other sectors including Oil and Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Automotive and Industrial Products should apply. We’re seeking project planners or qualified engineers with proven experience of using scheduling/planning tools - ideally Primavera 6. What will set you apart is your tenacity and - perhaps most importantly - your way with people. You’ll bring to the role excellent communication and presentation skills, twinned with a flair for networking and the confidence to challenge. In return, you can expect excellent benefits and opportunities for personal and professional development.
