Senior Tender Planner - London

An experienced Senior Tender Planner is required to join the Technical Department of a leading global main contractor in London. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a renowned main contractor who work on a national and international scale.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Some of your duties will involve (not limited to):

  • Working within the technical department interfacing with any/ all of commercial, design management, methods, estimating, and senior management to ensure competitive yet financially viable bids are submitted
  • Liaison with broader planning community to ensure knowledge of outputs/techniques remains current
  • Hands-on planning preparing, in conjunction with bid team, optimum working programme to meet project objectives covering design, procurement, enabling, construction, commissioning, handover, client key dates as appropriate
  • Contributing to the capturing of project risks and proposing mitigating actions
  • Preparing client programme in accordance in advice from “wrap up” meeting
  • Ensuring smooth handover and knowledge transfer to production planner on secured projects.
  • As requested, assisting in planning at production or claim stage

Senior Tender Planner Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience/ expertise in 4D/ BIM is desirable
  • Knowledge of other sectors will be an advantage
  • You will have experience of construction projects across a broad range of sectors (bias towards commercial, mixed use developments , schools, high end residential preferable)
  • You will have excellent time management - ability to manage multiple tender programmes running in parallel, prioritising to meet set deadlines
  • You will demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of development; design, procurement, construction (structure, architecture, services), commissioning
  • You will have excellent communication skills; ability to quickly and clearly articulate key issues and to listen and capture concerns of others
  • You will use specialist planning software (ideally all of Powerproject, P6, MS Project)
  • You will have knowledge of the key features of common forms of contract entered into in UK
