YOUR OPPORTUNITY:

The Planner/Scheduler will play a fundamental role in our growth strategy. Working on extremely high-budget and high-profile projects, you will take a hands-on role in schedule development, maintenance and monitoring activities to support project objectives. You will be responsible for the consolidation of project information from all projects to maintain consistency in our project control processes.

This position is based in Calgary, Alberta and is eligible for:

• Relocation to Calgary

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?

• Monitor and maintain consistency in planner/scheduler processes, detail and content of plans

• Consolidate project information

• Provide reporting information for project with respect to planning

• Conduct all initial work on new projects until assignment is made to planner/scheduler

• Assist in the preparation of schedules for commissioning, start-up, shutdown and tie-in

• Prepare area coordination schedules as required

• Summarize monthly progress, manpower and commodity information by rolling up contract data

• Review and analyze contractor progress information to ensure their systems and procedures are effective and ensure contractor provides accurate and timely reporting

• Support the Project Manager and Project Team on all progress and scheduling issues

• Analyze schedule, progress and manpower data; consolidate information and review procedures and processes  taken

• Review and assist in developing contractor schedules and work with contractor to ensure plans are realistic and achievable

Temporary Assignment Details

Location: Horizon Oil Sands site 70 km outside of Fort McMurray, Alberta

When: Timeline to be determined based on business needs

Duration: Timeline to be determined based on business needs

Shift Schedule: To be determined based on business needs

Accommodations: company provided accommodations

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Typically 12+ years of related construction and/or engineering expertise with Engineering Degree or related technical designation 

• Registration or eligibility for registration with APEGA preferred

• Familiarity with and understanding of:

   o Primavera P6

   o Microsoft Office Suite

   o Project/business  management principles and concepts
