YOUR OPPORTUNITY:

The Planner/Scheduler is a key player in establishing and maintaining various scheduling tools including Master Schedules, CPM networks, manpower reporting and progress measurement systems. Reporting to the Lead, Integrated Schedule and Reporting, you will work on extremely high-budget and high-profile projects, taking a hands-on role in schedule development, maintenance and monitoring activities to support project objectives.

This position is based in Calgary, Alberta and is eligible for:

• Relocation to Calgary

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?

• Prepare and maintain the Project Master Schedule, Plant Master Schedules, and various Area Coordination Schedules for the project under the direct supervision of other team members

• Prepare schedules for the Commissioning and Start-up

• Monitor, review and analyze the schedule and status of our contractors during all phases of the project, including any schedule deviations and corrective actions

• Assist in Progress Reporting, including Earned Value Analysis, Performance Factor Calculation, establishment of Construction logic

• Develop contractor schedules and collaborate with contractor to ensure plans are realistic and achievable

• Summarize monthly progress information, manpower and commodity by rolling up contractor data

• Review and analyze contractor progress information to ensure their systems and procedures are effective and make sure contractor provides accurate and timely reporting

• Support the Project Manager and Project team with all progress and scheduling issues

• Analyze the schedule, progress and manpower data and make recommendations for corrective action

• Prepare Area coordination schedules

• Assist in ad hoc project work

Temporary Assignment Details 

Location: Horizon Oil Sands site 70 Km outside of Fort McMurray, Alberta

When: Timeline to be determined based on business needs

Shift Schedule: Timeline to be determined based on business needs

Accommodations: Company provided accommodations on site

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Typically 15+ years of related industry experience with an Engineering Degree or other Technical designation

• Familiarity with and understanding of:

o Proven experience in commissioning and start-up 

o Experience working in an oil sands, mining, refining or petrochemical environment

o Industry specific applications such as Primavera P3ec and Microsoft Office Suite

o Project/Business Management principles and concepts
