Job Introduction
EastEnders is one of the BBC’s most popular programmes and plays a key role in the BBC One schedule. A key part of the core infrastructure that supports EastEnders - the exterior lot - needs urgently replacing. Built as a temporary structure to last for 2 years, the lot has been standing for 29 and is now in a very poor condition and limiting the show’s creative ambition. The E20 Programme has been set up to address these challenges by providing a replacement (enhanced) exterior lot on the BBC Elstree site. This is a major, long term project which requires skilful project management throughout.
Main Responsibilities
Broadly speaking the Project Planner / Project Manager will:
- Provide technical resource to develop, maintain and report on project programme’s using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Maintain and contribute to the project management library including helping to produce the quality plan, benefits roadmap, risk register, and programme management plan.
- To provide project management support to the editorial/production work-stream of the E20 Programme.
- Monitor the effective delivery of the E20 programme
The Ideal Candidate
You will have sufficient hands on experience of using MS Project and Primavera (P6) and will have a Prince 2 / ITIL, or similar qualification. You must be able to work under pressure in order to meet tight deadlines and have demonstrable experience of leading and delivering construction projects successfully (including leading teams, budgeting, planning, quality management, problem solving, reporting, managing risk). Furthermore you will have strong communication (verbal, written, listening) and influencing skills.
