We have an immediate requirement for a Field Planning Engineer who shall have proven experience of all aspects of planning/progress monitoring and reporting associated with the construction, commissioning and operation of a large scale HFO or coal fired power plant.
The candidate should ideally hold a Degree in Engineering and have at least 10 years proven experience in the position of planning engineer for Coal or Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) Fired Power Plant Projects of similar size (4 x 700MW). Experience in an EPC organisation, Client Operations or within a consultancy is equally desirable.
Duties will include working closely within a large multinational team of Consultant Engineers to ensure the EPC Contractor prepares and implements the necessary planning and control measures required to fully complete a 4 x 700MW thermal power plant. The main EPC Contractor will be responsible for undertaking the planning and control work however the candidate shall be expected to ensure the work is carried out in line with the technical and contractual requirements and that good records are kept to demonstrate the same.
The duties will also include, but may not be limited to, analysis of the EPC Contractors Level 3 Programme and Progress Reporting KPIs, preparation of weekly and monthly reports for the Consultant, providing support and programme information to the Consultants Site team and attending weekly progress meetings.
The successful candidate must be articulate and technically capable, with good report writing skills and able to work under their own initiative and within a team. Proven experience of using Primavera P6 is mandatory.
