Planning Engineer – Permanent – Primavera P6 – Civils/Rail – Derbyshire – Main contractor – Salary up to £50,000 + package.

A leading main contractor is on the lookout for an intermediate planner to work on a decent sized rail bridge reconstruction project. The work is highly civils biased and will also incorporate BIM (Building Information Modelling)/4D modelling.

The position would entail:

• Site planning
• 4D modelling
• Possession planning
• Developing programmes
• Primavera P6 reporting/progress monitoring
• Build construction schedule
• Implementation of BIM techniques
• Liaising with client and other planners working on the project
• Offering contractual advice to project managers and others within the site team

Candidate specification:

• A relevant degree or masters in civil engineering
• A minimum of 5 years planning experience for a UK civils contractor
• Will have held site engineer or project management roles before moving into planning (desired but not essential)
• Will be expert users of Primavera P6 software
• Strong programming/scheduling experience
• Strong site planning experience and able to delegate tasks to junior team members
• Will ideally have worked on rail and or bridge construction projects
• Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence as this role would entail site visits
• Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Applicants who are not residents of the UK will not be considered due to urgency of this role.
