OHL Senior Planning Supervisor

My client is looking to recruit an Overhead Line Planning Supervisor to ensure adequate supervision of the workforce on site to ensure safety, productivity and workmanship meet the necessary standards. Liase with line manager on variations and additional works. Assist OHL tendering team to develop detailed tender programs and assist engineers to produce detailed methodologies. Other benifits include Pension Scheme of 5% contribution both employee and employer, 28 days annual leave plus 8 B&Ps
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES OR MAIN TASKS:
- In conjunction with the Works Manager and Project Manager, allocation of site labour, subcontractors and direct workforce to ensure the most efficient use of resources.
- Carry out direct supervision on site of internal workforce, agency labour, sub-contractors and plant, including lifting appliances where certified.
- Ensure productivity and workmanship of staff are of the required standard.
- Ensure all site operations are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant legislation including undertaking periodic site safety checks. Report on accidents/near misses as required. Carry out risk assessments as required.
- Assist in the planning of current on site operations and future projects, including resource planning and input into rostering and site hours to be worked.
- Ensure all relevant site records and paperwork are maintained as required by the Project Manager, and input into preparation of Method Statements, reports etc.
- To assist works manger with long term OHL detailed planning as required
- To assist OHL tendering team to develop detailed tender programs and assist engineers to produce detailed methodologies
- COSS duties as required.
- Implement and participate in Competency Assessment Programme.
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:
- Work under control of post holder is of an acceptable standard.
- All work to be carried out taking due cognisance of safety procedures and legislation.
- Satisfactory levels of productivity are maintained.
- Communication with management and commercial staff is ongoing and good.
Qualifications & Experience
- Time - served Tradesman / experienced man manager.
- At least 2 years experience in the supervision of labour and subcontractors.
- Understanding of competency assessment principles.
- Able to drive.
- COSS certification.
- Nominated person

- Sound knowledge of safety procedures.
- Ability to lead/direct and motivate staff.
- Understanding of site management of projects.
- Decisive.
- May be required to work away from home.
- Undertake on-call duties to agreed timescales.
- Full clean UK driving licence
