URGENT, Permanent Planner or Senior Planning Engineer, Water/Wastewater/Amp/Utilities, Warwickshire, Salary £40,000 - £55,000 + competitive package.
One of Gold Group’s oldest and most reputable clients, a leading main contractor is on the lookout for an experienced planning engineer to join a busy team based out of offices in Warwickshire. This contractor has one of the busiest project portfolios in the UK construction industry. They work on projects from highways, to water to major commercial developments and renewable energy schemes. Projects range in value from £5million to £600 million and are national. The position is to work on a variety of water projects for a number of highly advertised frameworks in and around the Midlands. The role would entail a mixture of onsite planning for live jobs and tendering for new arms/projects within various frameworks.

- Preparation and maintenance of construction programme
- Site visits
- Liaise and guide sub-contractors
- Reporting to client and attending update meetings offering input
- Coordination with various site teams that include project and site managers
- Communication of bid strategy
- Risk assessment
- Report writing
- Tender negotiations
- Offer guidance to junior team members
- Assist with recruitment
The candidate:
- Will have a minimum of 5 years planning experience working for a UK main contractor
- Will have experience working in a tender and site environment on major water projects
- Will ideally have been involved with AMP 5 or AMP 4
- Will live within a 1 hour commute of Warwickshire or Leicestershire and have a full UK driving licence. Candidates who do not drive will not be considered
- Will be expert users of Primavera P6
- Mentoring experience is required to guide junior planners or site managers on P6
- Some project or site management experience would be beneficial
- Strong programme/scheduling skills are essential for this position
- Candidates would be expect to prepare and run their own tenders without assistance from a manager therefore it is vital that they have a good understanding of how the construction process works on site
- Will he hard working and driven and work well both on own initiative and as part of a team. Good communication skills (written and spoken) are essential
