YOUR OPPORTUNITY:
The Cost Reporting Engineer is an integral part of growth strategy and you will have the opportunity to:
- Create and monitor all project cost developments and deviations to ensure the costs are aligned with the overall project objectives through timely and accurate reporting
- Develop and maintain cost reports and ensure data integrity
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Leads, and Cost Engineers to ensure development of reliable and consistent project controls practices
HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
- Contribute your expertise gained through many years of experience in a project control team to expansion projects at the Horizon Oil Sands.
- Prepare and maintain cost systems and various cost exercises for the project
- Consolidate project information, provide monthly reporting, and provide feedback to ensure consistency in reporting
- Share expertise by providing training in E1, ADP, P6, Prism, and reporting cycles to new Leads and engineers on the team
- Analyze all project information and provide feedback to ensure consistency in reporting
- Monitor, review, and evaluate all cost and status contractors during phases of the project including any deviations and corrective plans
- Ensure proactive direction is given to contractor and review contractor cost and cost flow reports to ensure plans are realistic and achievable
- Produce clear and concise summary report findings of analysis and ensure reporting deviations are communicated to affected stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Typically 5+ years of related industry experience with relevant Engineering Degree or other technical designation Registration or eligibility for registration with APEGA
- Familiarity with and understanding of:
- Oil sands, mining, refining, or project environment
- Procedure and processes development
- Project Management principles
- Industry specific applications such as Prism
