Project Controls Engineer/ Cost Engineer Oil & Gas Aberdeen



We are looking for a Project Controls Engineer/ Cost Engineer within our client's office in Aberdeen to work within the Oil & Gas Sector to support a number of Upstream Clients and Offshore projects.  This commission involves working on strategically important projects which are high profile within the client’s organisations. By the very nature of the projects you will be expected to deliver estimating activities/functions on site or in our offices for the client and form part of a team approach to project delivery.  This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person with an experienced background in the Oil & Gas Sector.

 

Responsibilities



Provision of a quality cost engineering service to single or multiple projects

To ensure service delivery to clients

Development and application of project controls and techniques to specific project services

Guidance, care and mentoring of subordinate staff

Awareness of internal job costings in relation to the fee, services to be provided and resource requirements.



Requirements



Member of the Association of Cost Engineers - or ‘learnt by experience’

OPITO accredited

BOSIET

Physcially fit to complete Offshore Medical  

Conversant in all aspects of cost engineering

SAP experience

Proven experience within the Oil and Gas Industry Sector

Ability to advise clients on project costs

Ability to prepare, monitor and forecast budgets during design, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning phases of a project

Ability to prepare, monitor and forecast expenditure profiles

Ability to prepare cost reports, including earned value identifying critical areas, trend analysis and early warnings

Ability to prepare Anticipated Final Cost reports for client review

The provision of cost details in support of a risk review process

Provision of benchmarking data to clients upon project completion

Provide and manage the cost framework, systems and resources to deliver an effective Cost Control (including change control) and reporting service to clients

Effective and efficient administration of project accounts

Should be able to both accept and delegate responsibility and influence and lead a team

Productive supervision of subordinates including adequate planning, monitoring and control

Referral of potential problem areas to Team Leader

Client interface level of responsibility on a project basis in conjunction with senior grades

Ability to work with the minimum of supervision and on own initiative

Ability to communicate to both immediate superiors and subordinates

Knowledge and understanding of the component parts of a project and overall construction costs.

Punctuality and input of time as necessary to get the job done

Numerically accurate

Flexibility on being office or site based
