Planning Engineer and Senior Planning Engineer
Location: Seascale
Working hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £35 - £45 P/H Ltd (DOE)
Duration: 12 Months

Our client, a nuclear power site is seeking an experienced Planning Engineers and Senior Planning Engineers to provide an integrated planning and scheduling service within a comprehensive Programme and Project Controls framework, within a major project or multi-projects. 

Your responsibilities will include;

  • To maintain compliance with standard and expectations concerning safety
  • To comply with programme controls procedures, processes and systems to ensure that quality and consistency is maintained
  • To contribute to improving the quality and performance of planning and scheduling processes and systems
  • To prepare a work breakdown structure and plan (for the Lifetime Plan) in conjunction with the Work Scope Manager and in accordance with the requirements set by the Head of Planning Capability
  • To assist the Work Scope Manager in developing the programme of work
  • To prepare schedules that include all activities detailed within the scope of work
  • Discuss and agree resources, costs and timescales with the Work Scope Manager so that the plan is fully resourced and cost loaded
  • Gather information for progress reporting and report actual performance and analyse variance against the plan on a monthly basis (as a minimum)
  • Develop and maintain (where appropriate) quantity tracking to underpin progress against schedules
  • Recommend recovery action plans based on programme analysis
  • Identify within the schedule key risk mitigation activities in conjunction with the OU risk manager
  • Support and facilitate the project risk management processes in conjunction with the Risk Co-ordinator/Project Risk Practitioner
  • Monitor and audit subcontractor plans
  • Produces effective, deliverable based schedules – fully resource and cost loaded.
  • Risk mitigation and schedule contingency integrated into schedules.



The successful candidate will posses;

  • Previous planning experience
  • NVQ Level 3 in Project Controls
  • Previous P6 knowledge and experience
  • IT literate with strong knowledge and experience of the Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Previous Nuclear site experience desirable or other highly regulated industry experience.
