P6 Planning Engineer – Permanent – Civils/Defence – Bristol or Somerset – Main Contractor – Salary £33,000 to £43,000 + package.
This position is to work for a leading contractor to be based in either Somerset or Bristol. The role will focus on major defence related projects and incorporating civils. The position has arisen due to a high increase in workload and the contractors desire to expand their busy team.
The role will focus on establishing and delivering baseline programmes, maintain and monitor progress packages, programme execution, schedule maintenance, keep budgetary information up to date, assist project and planning managers, earned value management and prepare and maintain work breakdown structures. The software currently being uses is both Microsoft Project and Primavera P6. This role will entail working as part of a team of over 20 and will also entail mentoring of junior planning engineers.
The candidate will hold:
- Minimum of 3 years planning experience for a UK contractor in either a civils planning or defence planning environment
- Either security clearance or eligibility for security clearance. This means that all applicants must have held a UK passport for a minimum of 5 years. Candidates who do not qualify will not be considered
- Will be strong users of Primavera P6 software, this is essential to the role and as the position is urgent candidates are expected to be able to hit the ground running and work unsupervised on P6 programmes
- Programming, site, tender planning, WBS, earned value management experience are all essential skills for this position
- A full UK driving licence
- Candidates will be highly motivated, willing to learn and will be keen to progress.
