As part of AMEC’s strategy to access the Norwegian market, AMEC Greenfield has signed a collaboration agreement with Aibel AS. This agreement will allow AMEC and Aibel to work in partnership to deliver the Topsides for the offshore project ‘Dagny’, which will become one of the largest construction projects on the Norwegian continental shelf since Gudrun.
Dagny is an oil and gas field located north of Sleipner West in the North Sea. Gas was originally found in the field in the 1970s. The concept for a possible field development, with a 16,000 tone fixed platform and an oil tanker for offshore storage is now out for EPC tender following the completion of the Topsides FEED (Front End Engineering Design) study by Aibel.
The partnership will see AMEC and Aibel form an integrated team, providing EPCH (engineering, procurement, construction and hook-up) expertise from the Detailed Design phase right through to completion in 2016. The detail design and procurement activities will be executed out of AMEC’s London offices.
Norway is one of the largest offshore markets in the world and, as such, will have one of the largest global capex spends over the next 10 years.
Aibel AS is a leading Norwegian supplier of services related to oil, gas and renewable energy, particularly to the Norwegian market. The company has over 5,000 employees, two major fabrication facilities in Norway and Thailand and engineering execution centers in Norway, Singapore and UK. Aibel provides on and offshore expertise in the provision of engineering, construction, upgrading and maintaining platforms, vessels and production facilities.
Duties:
To manage all aspects of Planning for a major EPCH offshore project and to be responsible for the overall planning, development and monitoring of the project integrated schedules and reporting processes.
Responsibilities:
Maintain effectively a project planning and progress control system in order to support the Project Manager's decision-making process to complete the project according to and in compliance with the contractual dates and requirements. This will also require understanding of all project contractors in house processes to be able to set up and manage a project integrated schedule for all phases of the project.
Ensure any deviation from the plan is promptly spotted andanalysed, final time impact is estimated and the effect of corrective actions taken is monitored. Create a schedule awareness atmosphere among all project participants.
· Development and management of an EPCH project package to include detailed L3 schedules.
· Continual review and development of project procedures and common support processes resulting in improved business effectiveness
· Ensure the requisite quality of data is maintained
· Develop and ensure compliance with the work breakdown structure and coding
· Oversee and input to the planning element of the change control procedure
· Production of ‘what if’ scenarios and plans to suit both client and contractor requirements
· Production of risk analysis data if required by the project.
· Mentoring and development of planning personnel, to raise their competence, awareness, knowledge and techniques required in the execution of planning functions
· To read, understand and implement the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described in the Company and area Safety Management System documents in relation to the Planning function.
· To promote HS&E responsibility within the team
· Attend engineering and construction discipline progress meetings or other related meetings
· Ensure that the projects planning and scheduling requirements are properly and clearly communicated to those functionally responsible for executing the schedule
· Ensure that the Planning and Progress Control procedures are complied with by effective monitoring of progress measurement forecast, completion, deviations and changes to the baseline schedule
·Compile and review progress reports and advice deviations, trends, mitigating actions, risks and opportunities to the Project Management
· To promote good working relations with the project staff and client
. Ensure efficient interfaces with Project Control functions and maintain good communications with these departments.
Essentials Required:
This role demands leadership ability and management skills
· Extensive demonstrable planning managment within offshore
EPC projects (preferably recent) to include detail planning of offshore detail design, procurement and construction phases
· Ability to develop and manage detailed integrated project schedules, requiring excellent multi-discipline knowledge for engineering and construction.
. Previously managed planning function on a large multi-discipline, multi-phase project
· Self-motivated leading and supervising large teams of planning engineers and must be able to demonstrate their ability to manage and blend individuals into a cohesive team
