As part of AMEC's ongoing strategy to constantly appoint and develop Talent within the business we are currently seeking to appoint Project Controls Managers to join AMEC on a permanent basis.

 

PROJECT CONTROL/SERVICES MANAGER

 

To control, direct, supervise, co-ordinate, monitor and guide the day-to-day activities of the Estimating, Planning, Cost Control and Document Management functions along with Office Administration.  The successful incumbent will be required to pay special regard to the control of costs and programme against the defined targets highlighting any potential problem areas.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.             To ensure clear definition of the Project Control requirements of the assigned project and to be fully conversant with the Client Contract.

2.             To prepare, agree and issue the Project Services Execution Plan in accordance with Company Procedures.

3.             To apply all Project Services techniques as appropriate in accordance with the approved Project Services Execution Plan.

4.             To manage and co-ordinate the Project Services team on the assigned Project and to build the team capabilities to an effective and efficient unit.

5.             To ensure that the Project Services Systems provide the best possible control tools for the supervisory staff enabling  them to control the project work efficiently.

6.             To ensure that, at all times, the Project Task Force is fully aware of:

                -               the Project targets

                -               the current status

                -               exceptions to plan

                -               remedial action required

                -               forecasts for recovery to the plan

7.             To organise the regular Progress Review meetings in accordance with Company Procedures.

8.             To ensure that the Project and Construction Managers are aware of any potential major problems, and to propose remedial action, i.e. to initiate an "Early Warning" system.

9.             To prepare, approve and issue all relevant Project Procedures for Project Services, based on standard Company Procedures.

10.           To support the Project Manager and Construction Manager in any other relevant areas, e.g. contractual matters, office administration, accommodation, computing needs.

11.           To liaise with Project Services discipline managers on any problems, including but not limited to, staffing matters, administration, lessons learned etc, in order to promote and support a consistent approach across the company.

12.           To ensure that variations to the contract are carefully processed and analysed in order to safeguard budget and programme integrity.

13.           To positively promote the image of Project Controls and AMEC wherever possible.

14.           To establish and promote good working relations with direct reports, project staff and the client.

16.           To read, understand and implement the Company HSE Policy.

 

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Project Controls Manager while assigned to a project reports operationally to the Project Manager/Director, with a functional link back to the Project Controls CoP leader.

 

PROFILE:

A technically qualified professional with extensive demonstrable skill in the Oil & Gas Industry or equivalent  Must demonstrate the skills to manage a team/department, interface with others, and to communicate effectively at all levels.  Must have the aptitude to identify, analyse and propose solutions to problems, along with the commitment to deliver resolutions in a constructive and positive manner.
