Planning Engineer – Witbank, South Africa
Planning Engineer is currently required by a leading international organisation for a major project based in Witbank, South Africa. The Planning Engineer will join an already existing site based team on a large scale project coal fired power station project which will become one of the largest in the world upon completion.
Duties
· Development of baseline programme. Baseline schedule capable of acceptance for area / units under control
· Development of network precedence. Critical path for area / units under control
· Development of working control schedules (Level 3 & 4) for day to day activities for area / units under control. These should be agreed with key team members
· Progress monitoring and proactive warning of deviations to plan.
· Progress reporting and earned value analysis
· Supervision of junior planners under control
· General planning & schedule duties as Lead Planner may direct
Candidates must have the following skills and experience to be considered for this opportunity and preference will be given to suitably qualified EE candidates.
Candiate
· 5 years planning experience in an industrial power / energy related construction environment.
· Qualified in an engineering qualification.
· Must have experience in developing programmes in Primavera P6 using sound planning and scheduling techniques.
· Ability to produce variety of progress reports and S-curves also a requirement.
· Good interpersonal skills a requirement as a lot of interaction takes place with team members.
