PROGRAMME MANAGER
Reports to: Pre-Construction Manager
Location: Perth / Inverness Area, Scotland
Key purpose:
Manage team of Programme Planners and liaise with Site Managers and Project Managers to create and maintain a fully integrated and optimised construction programme and schedules on a 200km Overhead Line cable project, supporting the operation to the highest standards of Safety, Health, Environmental, Security and Quality.
Principal Objective:
Manage the Construction Programme in accordance with NEC3 and Employer requirements, ensuring accuracy of as-built and planned activities.
Production of weekly, bi weekly and monthly reports.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manage the Works Programmes, through close liaison with Site managers covering the construction and cabling aspect of the programme , including milestone achievement, resource planning, cost control to deliver the work with Programme Manager, Construction Manager, Site Managers and Project Managers.
- Develop project delivery plans to facilitate timely project completion working in conjunction with Site managers and project managers.
- Provision of range of monthly site reports and 4 week look ahead programmes as dictated by Site Management requirements. (Earned Value, Milestone achievement, critical path, resource profiles, variance reports)
- Review Performance and Implement Improvement Plans.
- Work with project team members in the production of validated performance, earned value and percentage completion reports on a monthly basis.
- Assist with administration of programme risk register within the change management process.
- Attendance of daily and weekly progress meetings with Site Managers and Employer
- Perform Schedule Risk Analysis.
- Working with supply chain to monitor and report on progress for key deliverables.
- Ensure Safety, Health, Environment and Security (SHES) aspects of all schemes within sphere of responsibility are managed and focused to continually improve performance.
General Experience:
- Experience as a Programme Manager, preferably in an Overhead Line / Power environment.
- Working Knowledge of NEC3 contract.
- Experience of Primavera P6 Version 8 to an advanced level and Excel to an intermediate level.
- Demonstrated successful capability in:
- Programme & Change Management
- Commercial acumen
- Effective communication skills including the ability to make persuasive presentations to small and large audiences
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation
- Track record of developing working relationships quickly and effectively
Specific experience required for this role:
- Programme Planning skills to a high level commensurate with projects up to £100m pa
- Experience of presenting detailed schedules, programmes and reports in a senior management forum
- Driving Licence Required.
