URGENT, Permanent, Senior Planner, Defence & Aerospace, Nuclear, South East, Gold Group Ltd
The position is with a leading defence and aerospace contractor that employs over 8000 people across the UK. They have been operating for close to 100 years and have one of the UK construction market’s lowest staff turnover rates. The position:
- Senior Planning Engineer
- Undertake Earned Value Management
- Summarising data and inputting it into the programme
- Maintenance and development of a database to assist with outlining trends, earned value etc
- Development of critical path, assist with claims avoidance
- Provide support to project management and estimating professionals
- Objection handling, advising project team on best practice
- Risk and resource management
- Project delivery and project performance managing
- Dealing with customer feedback and complaints and assisting with the improvement of current processes and procedures
- Develop work breakdown structures
- Use of Primavera P6, P3e and Ms Project/Microsoft Project
- Assisting with recruitment and training and management of junior planners within the team
Applicants should hold the following:
- Civil Engineering, Defence, Nuclear or Construction Background
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a planning engineer and ideally as a Senior Planner
- Relevant degree or qualification (Masters, Degree, HND, HNC)
- Site and tender planning experience is essential, a good all rounder
- Experience in the use of Primavera P6 or Primavera P3e and Microsoft Project
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management/Analysis
- On site planning and programming experience
- Understanding of risk management and assessing potential hazards
- Security Clearance is required at DV level for this role therefore candidates must have held a UK passport for a minimum of 5 years as well as a clean criminal record and must not have applied for bankruptcy in the past 5 years. Candidates who do not meet these requirements will not be considered.
- Candidate must be driven, highly motivated and have character. If a PM for example produces something that you are happy with you must be able to object and offer advice on improving process etc.
- Must be respectable and have a presence within the team, leadership skills and experience is desired
