Planning Manager – South Africa, Johannesburg
Planning Manager is required by an international main contract in Johannesburg to manage a team of Planning Engineers and play a pivotal role in the delivery of a major power construction project. The project comprises of the construction of a coal fired power station which will be one of the largest coal fire power stations in the world upon completion. On offer is a basic salary of circa £90-100,000 per annum plus an expat package comprising of accommodation, flights, car, visas etc.
The Planning Manager will report directly into the Senior Project Manager and they will be responsible for the following:
- Implementation and control of the project strategy.
- Manage the planning and resourcing on large mechanical projects
- Prepare, develop and update integrated programmes
- Review project design documentation and any other relevant data to understand the project requirements which may affect the planning process
- Change management.
- Staff training and development
Candidates should have experience of working on large scale power construction projects. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience of working on power station projects and / or experience on large and complex projects.
- A relevant University degree or professional qualification Engineering
- Advanced user of Primavera P6 and above, including resources and reports
- Advanced excel skills including use of graphs and formulas
- Experience of working on large projects as the Contractor in an EPC environment
