Capital Programme Delivery – Business Planning (various Project Engineer and Project Controls roles)

Salary: £37,110 - £50,140

Positions available in Warwick, Greater London (Willesden) or High Wycombe

This is your chance to take your project support and programme delivery skills onto a truly national stage. To support our continued growth, we currently have a huge range of ambitious investment projects in the pipeline. Your challenge will be to help us bring them all through to successful delivery.

Project Controls Specialist (Programme Build)

Working closely with the Programme Build Manager, you’ll shape the initial delivery plans we need to successfully launch our investment projects. This will involve using a variety of schedule templates, analysing impacts, forecasting spend and identifying risks and opportunities – ultimately aiming to build confidence in alliance delivery across the portfolio.

Programme Optimisation Analyst

Working closely with a Programme Optimisation Manager and colleagues across a geographic region of the country, you’ll develop an optimised delivery plan for a wide range of projects to be delivered through our many alliances. You’ll balance conflicting demands of resources, consents, outages and procurement strategies to hit demanding spend targets.

Project Controls Specialist (Programme Delivery)

As a Project Controls Specialist you will need to be able to demonstrate delivering multiple projects that make up our growing capital investment portfolio. Helping manage our all-important development programme, you’ll actively ensure the effective delivery of our five-year delivery strategy. You will review status and develop programme management systems aimed at identifying and drive forward, those projects which have the largest role to play in achieving our targets.

Project Co-ordination Engineer

You’ll support the delivery of our entire programme. You’ll do so by carrying out critical path analysis, identifying risks where possible and have a range of options agreed across the multiple interfaces on a national scale to mitigate slippage to the final end date. All these activities will be built into a strategic programme to successfully deliver our five year vision.

Whatever your role, you’ll need to be commercially focused and results driven, with the proven ability to work with people, projects and change. Programme management experience is essential, as is a solid understanding of Earned Value Management and productivity data collection and analysis. Experience of Planning tools (i.e Primavera) would be an advantage. And you’ll need to be comfortable building relationships at all levels within an organisation.

National Grid is the largest utility in the UK and the second largest utility in the US. We play a vital role in delivering gas and electricity to many millions of people across Great Britain and the Northeast US in an efficient, reliable and safe manner.

In addition to the excellent development opportunities our package includes: individual performance related bonus, a defined contribution pension scheme, 25 days holiday, and a comprehensive flexible benefits scheme that offers a range of lifestyle, health and protection benefits.

This advertisement is to create a pool of candidates with anticipated interview dates in September and October.
