A national construction and infrastructure company, who work within both the private and public sectors, offering unique services to include design and project management, are recruiting for a Senior Planner to join their rail division to work on variety of complex projects throughout London, South East, East and West Midlands.
The Role
In the role of Senior Planner, your key function is to offer full planning support and planning management to the pre-contract and contract teams for a variety of rail infrastrucure projects.
Responsibilities
As an experienced Senior Planner, you will prepare tender programmes, assurance, design and methodology with preferred suppliers and the bid team, plus other programme tender deliverables as and when required. The presentation of these shall be delivered by the Senior Planner to internal colleagues and clients.
Reporting to the Planning Manager and Project Manager, you will assess project progress and provide the critical path, test and change logic to improve and ensure project delivery and foresee potential problems and possible disruption.
Meeting set requirements; you shall be responsible for cost and resource loading of tender programmes and produce reports and commentary to the clients, in line with their specific reporting methods.
An element of travel between various sites of other rail projects will be requirement, so flexibility is paramount.
Requirements
All Senior Planner applicants will need to demonstrate and possess the following to be considered for this role:
Degree qualified or equivalent in a Business discipline
Previous experience working on multi-discipline, heavy civil / rail engineering projects
Substantial programme / project management experience
Competent user of Primavera P6 software
Commercially astute
Ability to meet deadlines with strong communication skills
