VACANCY REF NO. 02714

British Energy is now part of EDF Energy, one of the UK’s largest energy companies. The combined business is the UK’s leading generator and supplier of low carbon energy. We produce about one-fifth of the nation’s electricity from our nuclear, coal and gas power stations, wind farms, and combined heat and power plants. We have a focus on safe,

dependable energy generation and an ethos of service excellence. Together we intend to play a leading role in new nuclear build in the UK and secure a bright future for the combined business and its employees.

The role will involve working closely with work management staff ensuring routine and emergent work is correctly planned, seeking opportunities to optimise the station’s routine work bank while supporting the operational focus of the Work Management Group. You will continuously challenge station work management standards in order to drive improvement in performance.

A good understanding of work management and planning principles and processes is required. However, an enthusiasm, drive and the ability to motivate change are equally important to the role. Supported by excellent communication and interpersonal skills, candidates must be self-motivated, able to work on own initiative.

Candidates should have a good working knowledge of heavy industry, and ideally have practical experience in the areas of maintenance or operations.

As a minimum, applicants will be educated to GCSE/national qualification standards (or equivalent). Candidates with these qualifications that include “c” and above grade passes in English and mathematics will have an advantage.
