Key purpose: Work with Site Managers and Project Managers to create and maintain fully integrated andoptimisedconstruction programmes and schedules in an Overhead Line / underground cable environment supporting the Alliance operation to the highest standards of Safety, Health, Environmental, Security and Quality.
Principal Objective: Develop,optimiseand agree detailed schedules / programmes, including outages, resources, costs and delivery targets, to deliver the work, using Primavera P6.2 as a planning system.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimise, and agree assigned project programmes covering the full lifecycle of the programme , including milestone definition/achievemnt, resource planning, cost control and outage planning, to deliver the work with Asset Management, Network Operations, the Construction Programme Manager, Delivery Manager, Development Manager and Design Manager.
- Administer programme risk register for assigned projects within the change management process.
- As required performing Schedule Risk Analysis – defining schedule requirements and working within Alliance Best Practices.
- Provides project closure reports in a timely manner.
- Ensure Safety, Health, Environment and Security (SHES) aspects of all schemes within sphere of responsibility are managed and focused to continually improve performance.
- Develop project delivery plans to facilitate timely project completion.
- Provision of summary level plans for allotted workload for senior management reviews
- Provision of range of monthly management reports.
- Working with project team members in the production of validated performance, earned value and percentage completion reports on a monthly basis.
- Co-ordination and distribution of tasks to Site Planners and validating site planning reports.
- Attending monthly reporting meetings with project teams either on Site or at the main Rugby Offices.
Qualifications:
- Degree level education or equivalent
General Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience at a project planner level
- Demonstrated successful capability in:
- Programme & Change Management
- Commercial acumen
- Effective communication skills including the ability to make persuasive presentations to small and large audiences
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation
- Track record of developing working relationships quickly and effectively
Specific experience required for this role:
- Programme Planning skills to a high level commensurate with capex projects up to £75m pa
- Experience of presenting detailed schedules, programmes and reports in a senior management forum
