Senior Planner – London (Construction / Build)

We are working with the Build arm of a national top team contractor seeking a Senior Planner with advanced construction planning expertise, focusing on pre‑contract planning (but can include taking projects through project planning).

They are working on a mix of projects ranging from DfE framework to Commercial Cut & Carve and are ideally looking for previous relevant project experience.

You will:

• Lead programme development from pre‑qualification through to project handover.
• Produce and manage robust construction programmes using Asta Powerproject.
• Ensure full integration of design, procurement, and construction sequencing.
• Prepare detailed planning deliverables: tender programmes, method statements, project schedules and time‑related preliminaries analysis.
• Oversee change management, including assessment of programme impacts and Extension of Time (EOT) evaluations under JCT contract mechanisms.
• Maintain accurate as‑built records, programme issue logs and programme governance documentation.
• Manage and integrate supply chain programmes and ensure compliance with planning protocols.
• Lead programme audits, peer reviews and contribute to operational planning reports.
• Set, track and report programme‑related KPIs across the project lifecycle.

You will have: 

• Extensive construction planning background, with a UK main contractor.
• Expert user of Asta Powerproject with strong analytical and reporting capability.
• Deep understanding of JCT contracts, change control and delay analysis.
• Proven experience producing tender programmes, sequencing, methodology and bid-supporting documentation.
• Experience planning for education sector projects (Schools/Colleges/Universities) or similarly complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Ability to technically review programmes from junior planners and provide guidance.
• Comfortable challenging assumptions and proposing innovative planning solutions.
